Cummins Visits AUAF

On April 14, 2016, American University of Afghanistan (AUAF), hosted Cummins’ Middle East Managing Director, Rachid Ouenniche; Human Resource Director, Fella Mohammedi; and Managing Director, Mike R. Sharp; Recruiting Manager, Asha Sathe; and Business Analyst, Marwa Ehsan at the university over a visit.

The main purpose of their visit was to participate at AUAF's 7th Career Fair and offer internship and job opportunities for AUAF's students and alumni at Cummins regional headquarter in Dubai, UAE. Cummins delegation met with senior AUAF administration, and staff members. They were given a tour of both campuses by Mr. Edrees Kakar, the University’s Development and Alumni Manager.

In his interview, Mr. Ouenniche said that the purposes of these internships are to increase the representation of women in their work place, and also to develop future women leaders for Cummins and their community. "We provide them with some experience and give them some examples of work ethics," said Mr. Ouenniche.  "21% of our employees are women,  and we are hoping to continue to grow that, and attract more women to work at Cummins."

Mr. Ouenniche said Cummins would continue to offer internship opportunities to AUAF students and participate in future career fairs of the university. "This campus produces some really good talent and leaders for the country." He said.
