AUAF Hosts Dinner for Alumni
On November 19, 2015, American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) hosted the first annual Alumni Dinner, an opportunity for alumni body to reconnect with each other and AUAF administration . The dinner was hosted by the President of the University, Dr. Mark English, at his residence, and attended by approximately 100 alumni.
The dinner featured remarks by Dr. English, who welcomed all the alumni and told them that they are the representatives of AUAF in their personal and professional life. He promised to organize more social engagements for the alumni in the future.
"You are the backbone, face and voice of AUAF. I am proud of what you have done, what u have achieved and where u r in your life," said Dr. English. "AUAF is a young university, we don't have a large alumni like Stanford, and Harvard, but this is the basis for growing to that and I hope in the future we can not only have more social event but the Alumni can become more integrated to the university."
Ghulam Farooq Mujaddidi, President of the Alumni Association Board, expressed his gratitude to Dr. English for inviting and reuniting Alumni. He also said that Alumni Association Board plans to organize fund raising events for the university .
"I thank Dr. English for his continued support and commitment to Alumni Association Board," said Mr. Mujaddidi. "We all are proud of AUAF, a institution that provides world class education to future leaders of Afghanistan, and we will make sure to support AUAF in every ways possible."
The Alumni Dinner enabled graduates of various classes to develop relationships and build their professional networks. Alumni enjoyed sharing their stories and providing advice to each other.
