ID CARDS AND CAMPUS SECURITY
Security is provided within The American University of Afghanistan compound by AUAF. Due to the heightened nature of security situations in Kabul and the surrounding area it is imperative that students follow all security procedures. Failure to do so could result in disciplinary action by the University.
I.D. cards are necessary to enter campus each day. Students should visibly wear their identification cards at all times. Students are not allowed to use meal plans, check out books from the library, or use certain other facilities without their i.d. card present. In the event that a student has forgotten his/her i.d. card procedures have been established to allow them to attend classes. The procedure is as follows:
1st Occurrence– The students name is checked against the i.d. database. The student is allowed entry but is issued a verbal warning by security personnel after their identity is confirmed and the database is noted of the violation.
2nd Occurrence– The student is escorted to the main Security Office where they are warned by the chief security officer on duty and told they should make an appointment with the Director of Student Affairs for charges under the Student Code of Conduct. The name is noted in the database and notification is sent to the Director of Student Affairs.
3rd Occurrence– The student is escorted to the main Security Office where they are issued a replacement i.d. They are informed of the replacement fee and are told they should make an appointment with the Director of Student Affairs for charges under the Student Code of Conduct. Their name is noted in the database and notification is sent to the Director of Student Affairs and to Student Accounts.
4th Occurrence– Admission to campus is not allowed. They are referred to the Office of Student Affairs for further disciplinary action.
Please see the conduct procedures for further information in regard to alleged Student Code of Conduct violations.
