Beginning in August 2008, the American University of Afghanistan will offer a new degree option in General Studies.

The General Studies degree option will allow students to focus on courses in the social sciences and humanities and will facilitate those students whose work is based in the human services sector. In addition to taking the same core of general studies courses required in the other two programs, students in the General Studies program will do additional coursework in fields such as sociology, psychology, political science, statistics, literature and history.

Students will have the option to choose concentrations in Community Change or Political Science.
