Forming Strategies for Business Managers and Owners
23 - 24 March 2008

Growing a business is a difficult task, and one which requires a great amount of planning to be successful. This seminar is designed for managers and owners of small to mid-sized businesses who are responsible for the competitive position of their firms in the marketplace. Topics covered will include industry analysis, sources of competitive advantage, and implementation of strategies designed to grow participant’s businesses.

Each participant will complete a strategic audit for their company while at the workshop.  This audit form will serve as a guide to strategy planning when they return to their companies.

 

Forming Strategies for NGO Managers
25 - 26 March 2008

This seminar is designed for managers and mid-level employees of NGOs operating in Afghanistan. Participants will learn to evaluate the full range of an organization’s activities to identify areas of strength and weakness, articulate organization objectives in ways that facilitate monitoring and promote accountability, and select strategies to carry out the mission which are possible given your organization’s strengths. This workshop will be based on a combination of interactive lecture and group discussion.

Each participant will complete a strategic audit for their NGO while at the workshop.  This audit will serve as a guide to strategy planning when they return to their organizations.

 

Women in Business: Business Planning for Female Entrepreneurs
27-28 March 2008

This seminar is designed for women who either have started or are thinking of starting their own business. The format will constitute a combination of interactive lecture and group discussion, focusing on sharing experiences and finding practical ways forward.

During the seminar, each participant will complete an outline of a plan for their new business.  This outline will serve as a guide to preparing a complete business plan should participants decide to move forward with their business ideas.
