Need Help Preparing for the TOEFL?
AUAF is offering a new month-long preparation course for students who want to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The TOEFL Preparation Course is designed to help students acquire the skills and confidence necessary to achieve a higher score on the Internet-Based TOEFL (iBT).
The course will concentrate on the four areas of the iBT exam (listening, speaking, reading, writing), as well as test-taking skills and strategies, practice tests and timed exercises help students to gain confidence and perform well on the real test.
"Students from the last TOEFL Preparation Course have achieved the highest scores in the iBT, compared with past test-takers," said Lisa Roegner, iBT testing specialist at AUAF.
A passing score on the TOEFL is a mandatory requirement for many English language universities around the world. A successful TOEFL or International English-Language Testing System (IELTS) score is required by AUAF to gain access to the Business Administration or Information Technology undergraduate programs.
To be admitted to the TOEFL Preparation Course, students must achieve a 75% score on the English Proficiency Test. Courses will start on 12 November 2007 and 21 January 2008. The course will continue for four weeks, with classes being held twice a week from 5:30 pm to 7:45 pm
