AUAF to Co-Host Conflict Resolution Conference

AUAF and the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission will co-host an international conference on Conflict Resolution in Afghanistan in late November 2007. The conference, which will take place at Herat University, will develop a shared understanding of the conflict in Afghanistan, as well as political and educational strategies for its mitigation resolution and prevention.

"The conference will be an opportunity for experts from Afghanistan and countries such as the United States, Canada, Germany, and India to come together on Afghan soil to find practical solutions to problems in this country" said Mr. Jeffrey Stern, Deputy Director of AUAF’s Professional Development Institute.

A total of 60 people will attend the conference, including 25 experts who will give speeches and presentations. Speakers will include Afghan ministers and politicians, representatives from the international community in Afghanistan, and experts and academics on the conflict in Afghanistan.
