Calling All Bamiyan Students!
Recruiters from the American University of Afghanistan will visit the province of Bamiyan the week of 14-20 October 2007, to meet with potential students and their families about enrolling in AUAF for the spring semester beginning in January.
This trip, as well as subsequent trips to cities such as Mazar i Sharif, highlights the commitment of AUAF to providing opportunities to students from all parts of Afghanistan.
Bamiyan students from grades 11 and 12 are invited to evaluate their English proficiency and eligibility for admission to either the Foundation Studies Program or the Undergraduate Degree Program. Students and their families will have the opportunity to meet faculty and staff and to discuss the opportunities AUAF offers for qualified students.
Students who do not meet the English requirements for the Undergraduate Degree Program can enroll in the Foundation Studies Program, which provides intensive academic training in English, allowing students to be successful in English-language programs of higher education.
AUAF offers financial aid to deserving students. To help students who come from outside of Kabul, it will establish accommodations for male students. Housing for female students is already available at the National Women’s Dormitory at Kabul University.
This trip follows a prior visit to the province in June 2007, which saw senior staff raise awareness about the newly-established University.
