Enrolling in AUAF now faster and easier
AUAF has made major changes to its admissions and financial aid policies and procedures, making it faster and easier for potential students to enroll in AUAF’s undergraduate degree program.
Changes will allow a greater number of students to be admitted to AUAF’s modern, internationally-supported degree programs while still maintaining the high standards that will ensure students’ future success.
The Spring semester begins in January 2008, making November and December a key application period.
Financing your studies at AUAF
The most significant changes are in the amount of financial aid students can receive, which has increased dramatically from previous semesters. In addition, a number of new scholarships are available for new students.
The University also offers rebates to Foundation Studies students who go on to enroll as undergraduate students. For example, if a student pays 75,000 AFS for tuition in the Foundation Studies Program, that student will have half that amount (37,500 AFS) deducted from their tuition as an undergraduate student. See the tuition rebate page for more information.
Enroll as an undergraduate student while improving your English
AUAF is making it easier to enroll in the Undergraduate Degree Program for students who already possess a high level of English but who fall short of the University’s normal English-language requirements.
To be admitted as an undergraduate student, applicants normally require a score of 500 on the paper-based TOEFL, 61 on the internet-based TOEFL, or 6.0 on the IELTS. Under AUAF’s new probation policy, students who receive a score in the range of 475-500 on the paper-based TOEFL, 54-60 on the internet-based TOEFL, or 5.5 on the IELTS can now be admitted to the program.
Students admitted with lower scores will remain on probation for their first semester. If they cannot obtain a passing score by the end of the semester they will not be allowed to continue in the program. All courses and grades will be held until they achieve the appropriate score.
No room in the TOEFL exam? Don’t let it delay your studies
The number of people who would like to take the TOEFL exam often exceeds the number of seats available. If a potential applicant is unable to find a seat in a scheduled TOEFL exam, they can consult with AUAF’s admissions department about taking an exam that will count towards admission into the Undergraduate Program: the Alternative English Entrance Exam.
A successful score on the Alternative English Entrance Exam allows applicants to be admitted to the Undergraduate Degree Program. A passing score on this exam is 510, while applicants who achieve a score between 480-509 can be admitted on probationary status.
The cost of the Alternative English Entrance Exam is 2,500 AFS. Please
