Prospective Students

The office of admissions reviews each applicant’s qualifications based on a variety of criteria. We evaluate all the information you provide in the admission application along with your past academic record and your proficiency in English. It is very important that you complete the admission application and write the personal essay carefully. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

To be considered for admission to the Undergraduate Program, prospective students must submit the following documents to the Admissions Office:

  • A completed application form
  • A personal essay of 250 words describing why you are interested in studying at AUAF.
  • A letter of referral from a non-family member who can give evidence of your character
  • One copy of your high school transcript
  • One copy of your high school diploma
  • One copy of your tazkera or passport
  • Proof of English proficiency*

If you qualify for admission you will receive a letter of acceptance from the Admissions office. In order to register for courses you must pay a 25,000 AFS non-refundable deposit. This deposit will be used towards your course fees for the semester. Please see the calendar for application and payment deadlines.

* English proficiency can be proven by a score of 500 on the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), 61 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT), a 5.0 on the International English-Language Testing System (IELTS), or 3 years attendance in a high school with English as the language of instruction.
